What’s in My Eco Bathroom?

Welcome to my eco-ish bathroom! Here is a list of products I have used and loved for years in the bathroom. Let us know your favorite zero waste bathroom swaps below!

  • All paper/cotton swabs that I just get locally

  • Reusable floss pick that I found on Etsy. Though, I would recommend a metal one. This plastic one was 3D printed and often breaks so I superglue it back together

  • Compostable floss for Dan. My teeth are too close together so it shreds it.

  • Yay For Earth balm that I use as moisturizer and to heal wounds

  • Dry shampoo from Eco Roots

  • Lots of eco lip balms

  • My hair dye isn’t the most eco, but it’s better than not being eco at all as is from Good Dye Young

  • When we run out of what we’ve already bought, I plan to buy Patch bamboo bandages

  • For eco cleaning, you can reference this video!

  • I’ve tried lots of eco deodorants in my day (check out the reviews here) but here are some of my faves:

  • I made my own makeup remover pads from old cloth, but you can get some here!

  • Other than Plaine Products, I’ve also been loving Uni and Rebrand for my eco skincare

Now, I’m not perfect! I do a few unsustainable things in the bathroom, too:

  • I use toothpaste in plastic again. I had 10 cavities filled about 1.5 years ago, and I won’t go through that again. Back to regular toothpaste for me!

  • I sometimes use applicator-free tampons from Dame. They’re less waste, but still waste. These are best for me when I have long days out of the home and can’t as easily change my period underwear

  • I gave reusable toilet paper a short go, but it just wasn’t for me. I’m glad the bidet helps me cut down on TP usage!

  • As mentioned, I cannot use compostable floss, so I do use plastic floss, but I use the floss pick to cut down on my floss usage, and it also helps my arthritis!

  • Speaking of, I have arthritis and chronic migraines. I need medication to live a normal life, and I don’t feel guilty about it!
